In response to my sister-in-law Andrea's blog I am going to answer some of her "Do you ever" questions and add a few of my own.
-Yes, I go to say something and totally blank out. Then I get really frustrated trying to remember what it was.
-I have never forgotten the salt in cookies, but I have added too much salt and totally ruined the cookies. I have also mistaken sugar for salt and COMPLETLY ruined my salad dressing once. Yuck.
-I go to the store FOR milk and forget the milk
-I often look back on life and smile. In fact, I am doing it as a create this list
-I never wrote a letter to my ex's parents, but I did write a letter to the parents of a friend who died in high school. I found it years later and wondered if I should send it. I did actually send it. Not sure what happened or if it was the right move, but I thought they deserved to know what their son meant to me as a person. An ex is a different story though.
-I do wonder what conversations I would have with those that have passed on. Particularly those I never met. I never met my great Grandma Van, but I think we have a lot in common and I would have really liked to have known her and learn what she new about herbs and massage and such.
-I don't wonder why I don't allow myself to have more silly fun because I DO NOT hold back sillyness. Just ask my husband or family. I am silly to the max and happy about it. Many people I know admit that they get sillier when they are around me. I am a silly catalyst.
-I do wonder what my future kids will look like. My mom told me once I was just what she wanted. A blonde haired brown eyed girl. I will be happy with whatever I get, but I would like a blonde haired little girl like me. Blue or Brown eyes is fine.
So those are in repsonse to Andrea's list. Now here are a few of my own...
-Do you ever make "what if" plans for outrageous scenarios? For example, and this is really how my crazy mind works... what if I switched bodies with a cat, how would I warn Ken so the cat couldn't try to live my life. Yup, don't worry we have a signal all worked out.
-Do you ever tell yourself over and over not to eat something while you get it out and proceed to eat it.
-Do you ever wonder what happened to someone you hardly knew when you were back in school. (although with facebook now you can probably find out)
-Do you ever sit in nature and ponder the universe and life, and perhaps even sing out loud
-Do you ever walk around with Shakespeare, poems, or lines in your head just like a song is stuck in your head
-Do you ever set 2 alarms so you can shut the first one off and keep on sleeping
-Do you ever plan things you want to do as a parent. I was singing "I'll be your candle on the water" and it made me want to be a mom comforting my child so much I nearly lost it.
Those are some of mine. Now you have a look into how my silly mind works.
