Well, it is the afternoon now so I don't feel quite so happy as the morning. My body feels good, but my head wants tortilla chips. I have discovered that cravings and hunger come in waves. It gets really bad for about 1-5 minutes or so, but if I survive that it does pass and I feel good again. I just tackle it one craving at a time. Honestly, I want other food, but I am determined so I don't actually get close to eating other food. See, it passed. I don't want the bad things at the moment. I have to think about something else when a craving comes. I try to focus on how I want to look and feel, and what the scale will say the next day. Speaking of which...
145.5 this morning!!! That is almost 5 lbs in 3 days. That is the lowest I have been since March of this year. Losing weight doesn't feel impossible anymore. Part of the reason it sheds so fast without being scary for you is that your body is replacing all the toxins with the healthy things you are eating. It wants the healthy stuff so it slowly replaces all the toxins and then flushes them. So, you...cleanse a lot of the bad stuff out each day. I feel lighter and more energetic. I was so happy yesterday I started trying on clothes and lingerie that hadn't looked good on me for a while. That is how I have to reward myself and remind me why I am doing it.
Also, I measured my waist this morning. I hadn't measured for a long time, but the last time I did it was 28.2. The time before that was 25 so this was sad. However, today it was 26in. I need to get with my trainer to look at my other measurments and body fat. I want to note that I have been working out every single week day since mid June. I just do a 30 minute routine from my trainer (which I can share if anyone wants tips). I have also been riding my bike to work each day. It's only a mile, but it feels good. Man can not get fit on diet alone, you need the excerise. You can see I don't do a ton of excericse, but it is toning me up and making me stronger. Plus, when you build muscle is raises your metabolism and helps you burn more calories. (although I didn't lose weight until I started the detox).
Another great feeling time of day, just before I go to bed. When I know I made it another day and can look forward to the scale in the morning.

I can definitely see the diet provides the benefits of breaking habits and getting lots of fruits and vegetables. However, I'm not convinced that it's scientifically accurate to call it "detoxing"--I certainly don't think that there are pounds and pounds of toxins in our bodies.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, it sounds like it's working out really well for you, so keep it up.
